A new monumental figure has appeared on the shores of Lake Gruyère: Bouné Rodzo, an eight-metre-tall wooden giant created by Rossens sculptor Yves Tinguely. Installed directly next to the Rossens Dam, it stands close to the Sarine Trails, on the route of the Lake Gruyère Trail.
Inspired by the legendary red caps, small elves from Fribourg folklore known for helping local farmers in the past, this giant pays tribute to the region’s strong traditions. Bouné Rodzo is the fifth giant created by Yves Tinguely, after those in Hauteville, Corbières, Morlon and Pont-la-Ville. The artist aims to install ten giants around the lake in the coming years.
Easily accessible from Rossens, this new artwork invites visitors to enjoy a charming walk blending nature, culture and heritage.
